Located in Phase I of The Horizon of Kerrville - A 2,200 square foot structure containing an artist's studio with bath and guest facilities built to blend with the existing home and topography of the site. Built to the specifications of the artist, storage areas are custom designed to hold painting materials in easy reach of the working area. The north wall is a bank of windows providing an excellent light source. The building also has a 2-car garage area with room for a large workshop as well as a finished, multi-use upper level for a game room, office or bedroom. Completed in 2006.
Located in Gonzales County south of San Antonio, Texas - A Victorian design of 5,400 square feet. The living area of 4,800 square feet consists of three bedrooms, 3-1/2 baths, a bonus room, formal dining room, breakfast room, kitchen and a parlor. A "Painted Lady" representing the Victorian Era updated, the exterior is mint green with cream paint and stucco accents blending with cantera marble columns. Interesting architectural elements include a turret, back and front porches and a second story front balcony with balustrades. Completed in 2007.
Located in Phase II of The Horizon of Kerrville - This stacked sandstone home blends beautifully into its setting beneath oak trees against the westerly wall of a box canyon. Four bedrooms, four baths, living and dining areas, kitchen, walk-in pantry, breakfast room, office and outside living areas are some of the attributes of this home. The architecture and color choices harmonize perfectly with its environment both inside and out. A curving walkway to the front entry and patios around the entire southern side of the home create special outside entertaining and living areas. Flagstone covers these areas leading from the entry around patios to a covered arbor outside the breakfast area. The rear yard is bordered by a stacked limestone block wall and enclosed by a decorative wrought iron fence. One feature of the garage area is a custom workshop area, storage closets and stairs to the attic guest area. Completed in September 2008.
Located in Phase I of The Horizon - This structure was added after the original home was built and re-sold. Its style, materials and palette choices blend with the site and existing home. The barn houses the owner's large recreation vehicle in one long bay on the east side. On the west side of the building the front door opens to a sitting area/guest room, kitchen and bath in the front half, while the artist's studio is in the rear half. Deep porch overhangs on the west side shade a long sitting porch and also diffuse light into the studio from the windows along that wall. Completed in 2006.
Located in Phase I of The Horizon of Kerrville - A woodworking shop built to the craftsman/owner's specifications. Designed to compliment the existing residence and to provide maximum functionality and easy access both for vehicle and trailer traffic. Truckloads of dirt were also brought to the site to create a large berm backing the structure. The berm was sculpted to provide correct drainage around the building as well as to provide a natural noise and wind barrier. It enhances privacy to both the workshop and home as well as the neighbors. The owner landscaped with native grasses and wildflowers to provide a scenic view from the property and to the benefit of the neighborhood. Completed in 2007.
